Jackie Hooke was raised in San Francisco and introduced to theater as a young child. Growing up, her 3 children had many opportunities to perform in plays as well as attend Broadway productions in San Francisco. When Tim came to her and suggested doing a summer play with the proceeds to be used for the Religious Education programs, she was thrilled. Not only was the thought of having extra money for programs a wonderful opportunity but she was even more excited about the children having a safe place to perform and learn about theater. She knew Tim's love of both theater and children would go hand in hand and be a success.
Timothy J. Hooke spent his childhood performing in local theatre productions and went on to work and perform in high school theater at De La Salle High School in Concord, and at Diablo Valley College. Knowing what an important factor theater had on his adolescence, Timothy decided to bring theater to Holy Rosary. As a Pastoral Associate of the parish, Tim’s mom, Jackie Hooke, brought the idea to the parish staff, and they were thrilled. It was important to all involved that Holy Rosary Theatre Group be a safe, fun place to learn a love for live theater. As a theatre group, no one was turned away, and no one was charged to participate.
